No matter the form, discrimination is wrong. Yet, people with mental health are discriminated against when they are required to pay higher copayments, allowed fewer doctor visits or days in the hospital, or made to pay higher deductibles than those that apply to other medical illnesses. The financial and human cost of untreated mental health is great, while data clearly show that the cost of instituting equal coverage for treatment of mental health is low.
