DSM-5 Draft Criteria Available Online

DSM-5 Draft Criteria Available Online

The draft criteria for the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders are available online at www.dsm5.org. The site provides a forum to accept comment on proposed changes. Comments will be accepted through April 20. Update to the draft criteria will be made based on comments and field trials before DSM-5 is published in 2013.

The Senate passed a bill to postpone the pending 21% cut in Medicare payments to October 1. The bill included a one-year extension of the temporary 5% bump in payment for psychotherapy services. The legislation will now be sent to the House, where amendments are possible. For a full update.

These results are considered public, but NOT OFFICIAL, until the Board of Trustees acts to accept the Report of the Committee of Tellers during its meeting March 13-14, 2010.
